About Us

After more than 20 years each in the biopharmaceutical industry and related professional fields, we returned to Fort Mill to help care for Davis’s 93-year-old father. As we spent more time assisting him at home, we saw how difficult it had become for him to reach items stored in his kitchen cabinets.

While exploring solutions, we discovered that many homeowners throughout the Charlotte area faced similar challenges with storage and accessibility. That insight led us to establish Custom Roll Out Shelves, LLC in 2014.

As Davis’s father began to require more care, we temporarily placed the business on hold. During that time, Davis spent five years with ShelfGenie, a national franchise serving the Charlotte market. He was consistently recognized among the company’s top designers nationwide and ranked No. 1 in the Charlotte region.

We later returned our full attention to our own independent, family-owned business. The reason we started the company remains especially meaningful to us: we were proud to help Davis’s father remain in the home he had loved for 46 years until he was nearly 101 years old.

And, of course, our beloved dog Burki was part of the story from the beginning, serving as our official Chief Canine Officer and company mascot.
